Launch new website and placement of new servers

Clanhost launches its new website today. We hope to significantly improve our service to our English speaking (potential) customers. We’ve also published information of our services in English and how we differentiate ourselves in the growing competitive market of game server hosting. Next to the launch of our new site we have placed three new servers in our rack located in Amsterdam.

With our increased server capacity we can continue growing without any problems. Our latest is investment is also the largest thus far; three new servers, two of which will be used for hosting game servers. The third will be used for the services currently hosted by Nautilus. At the moment Nautilus is our HTTP, E-mail, FTP, database and also the game server for Unreal Tournament 2004. With the arrival of the new web server these services will be hosted on separate servers. Which of course will improve the reliability and performance of both the game servers and all other services. We hope to complete all work near end of May. The new servers have been placed into the rack this afternoon, customers have been informed about the expected downtime. The specifications of our new servers are:
Web and file server (1x)
- Chassis: Chenbro RM21500 (read more)
- Motherboard: Tyan Thunder K8S Pro (read more)
- RAID controller: Areca-1120 8 x SATA PCI-X (read more)
- Disk drives: Seagate Barracuda S-ATA100 250 GB (3x)
- Processor: AMD Opteron 242 (1x)
- Memory: DDR 512MB PC400 Registered ECC LP (2x)
Game server (2x)
- Chassis: Chenbro RM11702 (read more)
- Motherboard: Tyan Thunder K8S Pro (read more)
- Disk drives: Western Digital 360GD Raptor 36GB S-ATA (2x)
- Processor: AMD Opteron 246 (2x)
- Memory: DDR 512MB PC400 Registered ECC LP (4x)
After placing the new servers we still need to complete the installation and configuration. We expect to complete this work at the end of this week. Customers that have orders pending can expect their game server online early next week (Monday or Tuesday). Processing new orders after the expansion of our capacity won’t be a problem, we’re happy to setup a test server for those who which to test our services before ordering. Bedankt voor jullie reacties. We hebben veel positieve feedback ontvangen en nog een aantal voorstellen om de inhoud en presentatie van de website te verbeteren. We zullen deze maand kijken wat hoe we dit gaan verwerken.
