Now availible: CoD2, Quake 4 and Ranked Battlefield 2

Posted by Administrator | 15 November 2005 - 00:38 | 0 Comments

The past week has been a very busy one for Clanhost. Next to adding a new web server to our current infrastructure we have added three new games to our product range, these are: Call of Duty 2, Quake 4 and Ranked Battlefield 2. Also, we have changed the prices of almost all the games we host; especially our public servers have become more affordable.

Last Wednesday we went to Amsterdam to place a new web server in our rack. Our previous web server was sharing its capacity with serveral Battlefield 2 game servers. Needless to say that we prefer separate servers for each task. We have reinstalled the old web server with a new version of Windows Server 2003 that has support for NUMA. NUMA stands for Non Unified Memory Access. Basically this means that each Opteron processor only uses its own memory modules, this decreases the access time and therefore enabling higher memory bandwidth. The old web server (also a game server) will now only be used for hosting Battlefield 2 game servers.

In addition to the planned maintenance of the past week we have added two new games; Quake 4 and Call of Duty 2. Gameservers for these games are now available for renting! As some of you might know Clanhost is one of the four Trusted Partners of Electronic Arts in The Netherlands. This means that we can provide you with the best Battlefield 2 game servers in the Benelux hosted on powerful dual AMD Opteron servers, connected to the high quality network of ProServe in Amsterdam. Low latencies queranteed for customers inside The Netherlands and abroad. Clanhost is still looking for a large gaming community to sponsor several Ranked Battlefield 2 game servers, send us an e-mail if you think you can live up to our wishes!

Please take a look at our order form for a list of all the games we host.
