Announcement server maintenance Friday 29 July

This Friday we will move all of our servers to a new 19" rack in the suite of ProServe, Redbus in Amsterdam. To ensure that there will be enough room for expansion in the future we will be upgrading to a full-sized 19" rack. All customers have been informed about the expected downtime and other changes to our service.
Earlier this year we experienced some downtime due to a technical malfunction in the network of ProServe. To prevent downtime in the future when such a malfunction occurs, ProServe has given all their customers the option to get a redundant uplink to their network. This means that we will have two network cables at our disposal, each going to another core switch. In the event of an error on part of one of the core switches our traffic will be automatically switched to the other core switch.
We will also place a new server in our rack this Friday. The specification of this machine are the same as our other servers; a dual AMD Opteron 246 server with 2 GB of memory and two Western Digital Raptor disk drivers in mirrored (RAID1) configuration.
